Welcome to the US GroupF Website
US GroupF is a proposed car class for rally racing in the United States (and eventually, we hope, all of North America) based on the popular, grassroots and very fast Finland GroupF.
The theme is this:
- competitor-owned class
- simple rules, easy to understand and enforce
- close spec cars using minimum weight formula
- inexpensive, high hp NA (no turbo) motors
- 2 wheel drive, front or rear
- wide variety of eligable, competitive, inexpensive chassis to choose from
- a class the average clubman can afford to run year after year
- exciting, flat-out sideways action for spectators and drivers
- all resulting in large fields and tight competition - a true driver's championship
It is our hope that GroupF will eventually become the premier US Driver's Championship class and provide the highest level of competition across the country. It may even become the feeder system long overdue to produce drivers that can compete on the international level. If you're new, you should probably start by reading Why GroupF?

Current Status
The Rules are now finalized.
Thanks to Shenandoah Bennet for the assistance once again.
Update 11-24-04--We ran Group F at LSPR and had 13 takers for the class. Winner on the Friday Divisional Rally was Jake Himes with co-driver Silas Himes. Winner on Saturday Divisional Rally was Dave Cizmas with co-driver Dave Hackett. Congrats to both teams. Competition was tight among the top several Group F cars. It only stands to get tighter as the cars get more competitive and more drivers see the virtues of Group F.
Next stop on our development plan should be finding local leaders in each region of the country to facilitate constant movement in that geographic area. Since this is predominantly a clubman's class, it would be nice for a local infrastructure in each region to help find more local support and to keep it moving.
We've got the attention of many in the North American rally community. But we've just begun. ---respectfully submitted...Eric Burmeister
Thanks Eric
Group F was scored at the Rally de Paris. Randy Bailey and Will Perry won with a very strong run to finish 2nd overall.
Group F will be scored at the upcoming Sno and Drift regional rallies.
The rules are finalized for 2005. Any questions regarding these rules can be directed to me.

It is time to start creating your local Group F clubs. Do so respectfully, tastefully, with patience and tolerance, and as professionaly as you can. Take pride in knowing that your efforts are part of a landmark movement for rally in the US. Start small and keep quality organization and experiences in mind. Respect experience and be open to new ideas. It is important that our growth is sustainable so don't put the cart before the horse.
If you would like to participate in the GpF rules discussion please visit the GroupF Forum.
If you have a GpF eligible car, or are planning on building one or converting an existing car, please add your name to the list of Competitors. Information on how to build a killer GpF car can be shared in the Car Construction area.
Site Guidelines
Although you can post discussion on any page by clicking the "discussion" tab at the top of the page, the "official" and de-facto forum for North American rally discussion is at the GroupF Forum hosted by SpecialStage.
Action Items
- Help is needed on the national level to develop literature that can be used by local groups to help explain and promote Group F to potential sponsors and media.
- Help is needed to maintain this website if any technical issues arise.
- Focus on the creation of local groups, loosely controlled by and reporting to Czar Himes, to further develop rally opportunities for Group F competitors. These groups will handle scoring, technical inspection and rule conformation, tow and/or prize funds, and promotional opportunities for the group. It is highly suggested that local groups develop their own promotinal material to piggyback the national material. Websites should be developed for clubs as well.
- Scoring will be tracked on the group level only, rallies counting for Group F season points, if they are to be tracked, will be decided by the local group as well as the administration of points scoring.
- Group F will be scored at the Sno and Drift regional rallies.
About This Site
This website is what's called a Wiki. What that means is, anyone can edit any page, and add information. It's really easy, even a rhinosaur can do it. You don't have to know HTML or anything to contribute. This is a competitor-driven proposal, so I thought it would make sense to have a competitor-created website.
If you want to try your hand at entering and formatting information without risking screwing up a real page, please head over to the Sandbox.
